Over the holidays I watched a couple of movies.

Allied is a movie about two secret operatives who met and fell in love during a WWII secret mission. But, as they start trying to build their life with each other, things weren’t all that they seemed. I went to go see this movie because my cousin wanted to see it. This was probably one of the worst movies I’ve seen in a long time. The story line was crap, the visuals were meh. Only the leading two stars were decent (Marion Cotillard and Brad Pitt) granted their acting abilities should have been exercised in a better movie. The plot made no sense on multiple counts and because of that I was hard pressed to suspend my disbelief and exist within the story of the movie. It was overly dramatic and, overall, a poor use of 15 dollars to see the movie at a theater. Do not recommend. At least the seats were comfy.

The Girl Who Played with Fire is the sequel to the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I really liked the first movie. But, the second movie was pretty average. It was still really good in some ways, but in some ways the story wasn’t as riveting. Noomi Rapace and Michael Nyqvist were great as the main characters Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Blomkvist. The point of this movie was to get more of a backstory on Lisbeth, but sometimes the story was a little more convoluted than what it was worth. The movie had the elements of the first movie that had made it great: investigative journalism, suspense, action, and all the feels; but, it was not as good as the predecessor. Still it’s a decent movie to watch on an otherwise boring night.
